Naturally, the statement piece of this outfit has to be the mac... its a classic piece that faultless returns year in year out. Take for example, my mac, a Warehouse piece that each year sees its revival, only slightly altered. Why?! because you don't need to change a mac. It is stylish simply on its own accord. It is for this reason that i'd recommend buying one, i've had mine roughly a year and a half now and if i'm in doubt over how cold it is, whether I need to be smart or casual, i'll always return to it.
For this outfit post, I paired mine with some Guess heels (my favourite!) as they are neutral like the mac, so don't overshadow the print of the shirt. The beige of the shoe also draws in the colour of the mac and creates balance through to the bottom... the height is just an added bonus!
Now for the interesting part.... the COLOUR.
I kept my colour fairly simple.... a statement necklace, paired with a Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace and bright blue nail varnish (matching toes and fingers, keeping it smooooooth). I also have to add that this nail varnish has been my hero shade for quite some time now. Barry M's Gelish Hi-Shine range has never failed to disappoint, and I keep returning to this shade time and time AND time again. The shine makes your manicure look so professionally finished, and it lasts like 5 days without chipping. Miracle!!!!
Finally, I added the scarf as optional... some may say its too much... I personally prefer the clash of the spots and the colour- adds intrigue, no?! However I will say, if you're a 'button-up' mac wearing kind of girl, the scarf is not necessary. I'd style this scarf if, and only if, I was wearing the mac open, the clashing of prints is what makes it work for me. Wearing this print scarf and buttoned up just screams middle-aged to me (but that might just be my opinion). If we are being really picky too... I'd also like to point out how it matches my nail varnish and the colours in my necklace... the little outfit detailssssssss are what I adore (who says matchy-matchy is overrated?!).
