7 FALL TRENDS TO SHOP NOW

Or Autumn, if you want to be real picky...

Fashion week in NYC is starting to come close to its end, and whilst I've been more than happy drooling over the new trends that will emerge next Spring over Instagram and online, the fact of the matter is we haven't even hit Winter head on yet. With inspiration from the new collections that are looking forward to the new season it can feel a little same-old-same-old walking around high street shops recently. Whilst the catwalks are displaying fresh and innovative designs, shops seem stuck. And by stuck, I mean stuck forty years in the past. Are we ever going to emerge from this 70s trend alive, or must all our wardrobes be covered in tan furs and an assortment of orange and peach colours till the end of time? Whilst I am partial to a bit of fur, enough is enough! 70s seems to be a trend that has taken stores by storm. Instead of being a section of a shop, this trend covers the entirety of the whole shop and there doesn't seem to be one store out there at the moment (at least that offer affordable prices) that are willing to separate themselves from this mould quite yet.

With that said, I've rounded up a few trends you may be willing to embrace, that step away from the 70s but are just as chic and desirable.

THE EXTRA FIVE

WHY I LOVE RACHEL ZOE'S EXTRA FIVE MINUTES MANTRA

From being very young, watching The Rachel Zoe Project was one of my favourite things to do. Rachel's ultra glossy and polished lifestyle called to me on so many levels; not only did it involve lots and lots of fashion, but it also showed personal style,

TIE DRESS + LACE UP HEELS

This is probably one of my favourite outfits recently that i've posted. Put your hands up if you're also a fan of lace up heels?

My hands are firmly up- but with one condition. I think lace up heels are totally amazing, like totally. But they can look a little less than amazing depending on what outfit you pair them with. Short short skirts and tight tight tops paired with these kind of shoes are less fashion forward and more try-hard. Paired with something simple and elegant however I think they add an edge that most heels don't offer. They also make it seem like you've made a huge effort when really you've stuck a pair of shoes on and left it at that. I mean its not even as if you actually tie them up yourself, theres a zip for a reason... so lazy people like me don't have to spend hours panting and puffing trying to get some shoes on.

STYLING A MIXED PRINT DRESS

I recently got this dress from ASOS in the sale (you can find it here). It reminds me of a DVF style of print and because of that I instantly loved it. I decided to do this post because I know mixed prints, especially when they are on a dress and you're not actually mixing them yourself, can be daunting and sometimes hard to style in different ways. Granted, the first look I will probably sway more towards as autumn kicks in as the boots will no doubt make me hottttttt right now (i'll also probably add tights and a black wrap around coat). But, despite the boots, adding the belt and some gold heels instantly changes the shape and therefore the look of the dress. The belt I saw lying around in my mums room, its one of her old ones from when she was my age that she often gets me to try on with my own clothes now but I haven't really take to it properly until I paired it with this dress. I look the gold colour against the blue  and think the leather adds something a little edgier to the look,  be it with boots, flats or heels.

NW BLOGGER MEET-UP

So many of you will know if you follow me on instagram or twitter that I went to a Blogger Meet-up on Saturday 14th March in Liverpool. It's the second one i've been to but my favourite by far (and that's not just because I got a free cupcake). Not only was it great to meet fellow bloggers and share stories, companies were also so incredibly generous and I now have a big stash of goodies to try out and share with you all!

I will start sharing my favourite items of the goodie bag in a few posts to follow so look out for them and enjoy! Here's a few pictures from the day!

NAILS OF THE WEEK | STRIPES

Anyone who knows me knows I'm uh-OBSESSED with stripes so when me and my friends went shopping and I spotted these I fell in love like straight away (so much so we both bought some).

Now the best part... they're £1... I know, I know... from PRIMARK.

You can pick your jaw off the ground and go grab some now. They do so many different styles and patterns and are well worth the quid. They lasted me around 4 days until I decided to pull them off and they come with glue so no need to buy your own either. I'll definitely be getting some more next time I pop in.
