TAP YOUR FOOT AT THAT: Five Must-Have Summer Shoe Trends

Okay so... Usually I am not much of a shoe person, I'd much rather spend my money on clothes than shoes, because I think people take note of what is on your body more than what is on your feet. Oh, how wrong I've been. As Spring season has set in and the sun has begun to shine, I've not only been craving shoes constantly, but i've also been paying more attention to what shoes people are wearing granted mine are as fabulous as they should be, but with these tips i'll be getting there before you know it! I have to say, it is definitely true, shoes DO make or break an outfit. Not only do they often elongate your legs, especially pointed ones, but open-toe shoes allow for the perfect pedicure/outfit colour coordinating opportunity. What's not to love right? So with that said I thought I would share my favourite, and best shoe style to look out for this Summer with all you lovelies!

1. Espadrilles

Topshop: Koala Espadrille Shoes, £45

First on my hit list is ESPADRILLES! I cannot get enough. Being the poor student that I am, craving over Chanel ones (see this post) I am perfectly happy to settle with some Topshop replicas. They do these in a variety of different colours including all black which are also a personal favourite of mine but these Koala print ones really peaked for me!

 2. Slider Mules
Next: Backstrip Pink Slider Mules, £24
Secondly are these beautiful slingback mules. I love the thick cross over leather and in a pastel colour they will look perfect with any Summer tan (although granted this will probably take me all Summer). Pair these with jeans for a cooler Spring, shorts, skirts or a dress. The Simple nature of these shoes makes them so versatile and appropriate for almost any outfit!

3. Pointed Slingbacks
Next: Point Slingbacks, Snake, £26
Pointed slingbacks have to be my classic pick for this edit. I time and time again go to pointed sling backs. They make any outfit look polished and add a sleek, leaner look to your legs. The snake print on these (fake of course!) adds more of an edge to the ordinary slingbacks as well as making them look more expensive.

4. Metallic Weave
Office: Keel Multi Weave Silver Leather, £45

I mean, J'adore. I saw these in office last week and literally must have spent twenty minutes just holding them. I must also add, in person they are even more amazing! Whilst I have always been a fan of the weave shoe as it spells laid back Spanish beach style, Office's incorporation of the metallic trend makes these and any like them sure winners.

5. The Birkenstock
Topshop, Heights Double Strap Sandals, £26

Whilst I was a little resistant at first I do have to say I am probably going to be buying some Birkenstocks this Summer. Whilst original Birkinstocks market at around £45, these Topshop equivalents will only set you back £26 which if you're a little hesitant like me is perfect! This style has to be my favourite style, especially the white. I must add (and this is personal taste) I find the ones with thick soles a little too bulky, being small they do not suit me whatsoever! I much prefer the thinner soled ones as I feel they are much sleeker and will work better with my Summer wardrobe.
